I still can’t believe that our 2019 season has officially ended! What an amazing finale it was with a double wedding weekend!!! First up is Elly & Dallas’ gorgeous wedding in Rock Island, Illinois.
It seems like just a week or two ago that we were photographing their engagement session at Duck Creek Park with the spring blooms! December seemed like such a long ways away, yet it came before we even knew it.
Elly and Dallas are high school sweethearts that have stood the test of time and distance! Those are both huge hurtles to reach in a relationship and it seems that Elly and Dallas have done it with ease.
The day started with the guys hanging out at Elly and Dallas’ house; and the ladies getting ready at Jumer’s Casino! The girls were chattering excitedly when I arrived and Elly was getting her finishing touched put on her makeup.
Finally it was time to get Elly into her GORGEOUS gown from A Storybook Ending (seriously, it’s like this dress was made for her!). There were so many happy tears and laughs. You could tell just how excited everyone in the room was for this day to finally be here!
Of course December’s in the Midwest are usually pretty cold, and those winds can give quite the bite. But when I met with Elly to put together the timeline for her wedding day she told me that she was positive that she wanted outdoor photos for her wedding day!
Their entire wedding party was phenomenal and didn’t complain at all about the twenty degree weather! We were lucky enough to have a building nearby that was open for us to take breaks in so that everyone could warm up! And I’m so glad that Elly & Dallas opted for outdoor portraits because they turned out beautifully!
They began with a beautiful ceremony inside the Chapel at Augustana College, then headed to their reception at the Stern Center complete with a rocking party and a toasty hot coco bar. I absolutely loved everything about this wedding and hope you enjoy this preview from their day!!! <3
