Well, it seems to happen every year.  Wedding season hits and we fall behind in blogging our wonderful engagement sessions that we get to photograph.  Since we are in off season and I’ve been holed up in my house with four kids because of a polar vortex; I figured I’d get to blogging some of our past engagement sessions for you to view!

I am beyond excited for Avery & Sauvik’s wedding this year!  These two are the sweetest people, so, so in love, and they have the cutest little puppies!!!  Avery is quiet but full of joy, and Sauvik is literally the funniest guy.  Classic class clown and I know he’s going to have us all laughing at the wedding.  <3  They are working with Amanda from White Ivy Events (whom I LOVE), and getting married at the Celebration Barn.  Talk about the perfect wedding.

We got together in Iowa City for their engagement session and hit Lake MacBride State Park at the perfect time, because a few weeks later the whole place was flooded!!!

We got their pups out for the beginning of the session and they did great!  Avery was a little worried since there were two dogs and they were a little energetic.  But they rocked it, and when in doubt you can’t go wrong with some candid puppy kiss portraits.

We ended up at a rock formation and mini waterfall, which is about as good as you’re going to get in good ol’ flat Iowa.  I asked if they wanted to climb up on the rock, kind of hesitant because I never want to force my clients into anything that might feel too dangerous too them.

But Sauvik told me that it was the perfect place for some photos because they got engaged on top of a mountain!  (And as a couple they clearly love outdoors and adventure).

I loved getting to know these two and am so excited for this spring when I can capture their love story.
