Saturday was such an amazing day celebrating the wedding of Jackie and Aaron at Oakwood Country Club. Â Jackie and I had been emailing earlier in the week making a game plan for if the forecasted rain did in fact happen. Â As I pulled up to the church it looked like we were going to have to go with plan B. Â The storm clouds were rolling in and the rain began to trickle down.
I walked inside to talk to Jackie about the rain and she was all smiles and no nerves. Â This was her day and nothing was going to bring that down. Â I so love and appreciate Jackie’s go-with-the-flow down to earth spirit. Â It really made their day so terrific since there was just about zero stress going around.
Wouldn’t luck have it that after the ceremony the rain was holding off!  So we hopped on golf carts at the club and made our way out for portraits.  Right at the tail end of portraits we heard some rolling thunder and then the rain began to come down.  We raced back to the reception hall to grab our umbrellas and got some a-dorable umbrella rain shots with Jackie and Aaron.  I thought it was so fitting because their engagement session was full of rain!  (But at least their wedding wasn’t 20 degrees!!)
We figured that was probably it for photos because usually when it’s rainy and overcast we don’t get a sunset.  God was looking out because we looked out the window that evening and saw a beautiful shining sunset behind the tree’s just waiting for us to photograph it.  🙂
I love all my couples, and connect with them each on different levels.  But I would be lying if I said there wasn’t something special about photographing Harvest Bible Chapel weddings.  Our family has attended Harvest for the last two years and it has quickly felt like home.  Because of that – every time we have the honor of photographing one of these weddings it feels like we are photographing family.  We usually end up with an old Bride or Groom in the bridal party, and always see our past clients out on the dance floor (tearing it up I might add 😉 )  There’s just something about our connection that makes their weddings extra special.
We know what lies in the hearts of our Harvest couples and how Christ is the center of their relationship. Â The biggest smile crossed my face as I watched their families and the bridal party surround these guys to pray over their marriage together. Â And I absolutely loved it that they took a sweet and tender moment to pray together before the cross.
Thank you again Jackie and Aaron for choosing us to capture your absolutely wonderful day. Â It was such an honor and we feel truly blessed to be a part of it. Â <3
