Emily and Tim are two of the sweetest souls I have ever seen. I first met them at a consultation a few months ago, and I knew within 2 minutes that I loved this couple and wanted to capture their wedding day. I was so happy when they contacted me and told me they wanted me to be a part of their special day.
The Saturday before Emily’s final exams at school, she spent the day studying with friends. At the end of the day, she reached out to Tim about their plans for the evening; he invited her over for dinner and to wrap Christmas presents. Emily arrived at his apartment, enjoyed a delicious meal that Tim had prepared, and plopped on Tim’s couch to watch It’s a Wonderful Life.
Tim said, “Before we wrap presents, I have one for you to open.” Allegedly, Emily asked, “Is there a ring in there?!”, though she now has no memory of such a question 🙂 Tim denied. He then handed Emily a small, wrapped gift. She opened it to find a note of instructions and another wrapped item; she was first to open the second gift and then to walk to the Christmas tree and find a third present. [This was, indeed, becoming suspicious to Emily :)].
When she unwrapped the second gift, she was delighted and surprised to find it was jewelry cleaner from Necker’s Jewelers, the store where they had looked at rings together. [SERIOUSLY SUSPICIOUS]. Per instructions, Emily walked over to the tree and found a third small gift tucked among the branches. She unwrapped it and found a 2016 ornament, though the “0” was a diamond ring and the bottom read, “Tim + Emily”. She looked up to find Tim on one knee with a blue box from Necker’s (mystery solved). He asked and she said, “Yes! Yes! Yes!”
